The seeds of yellow panicum come from Italian millet (Setaria italica), an ancient cereal widely cultivated in Asia and also used as birdseed.
Appearance: small spherical seeds, smooth, pale yellow to golden in color.
Size: about 2 mm in diameter.
Taste: sweet, slightly floury, reminiscent of hazelnut.
