Simple seeds

The Cardy seed is rich in protein and linoleic acid, which helps reduce cholesterol levels and therefore decreases the risk of heart disease. It is found in mixes for budgerigars and parrots, but also for native birds such as bullfinches.

Cardy seeds are high in fat. The amino acid proportions of the seed are very favourable, with a very high arginine content. The seed is low in lysine and methionine + cystine, while tryptophan is completely lacking.

Hemp seeds are highly nutritious and contain more essential fatty acids (EFAs) than any other source and are in second place, after soya, for their richness in highly digestible proteins, of high biological value. They are particularly recommended during the breeding seasons in order to stimulate the reproductive instinct of birds.

Canary seed is a grass, an annual plant that can reach up to 1m in height, with seeds found in the inflorescences. These seeds make up a significant portion of most bird seed mixes.

Instructions for use:

Dosage: Add a small amount (usually a teaspoon per day) to the birds' usual seeds. The amount may vary depending on the size and specific needs of the birds. Can be mixed with the birds' daily food.

Foniopaddy Seed is a natural grass seed grown on our plantations in Uganda. Scientific research has shown that Foniopaddy has a beneficial effect on coccidiosis.

Couscous is a hard grain semolina that is steamed until the small grains are obtained, which are then dried. Couscous is excellent for supplementing the feeding food of nestlings or adults. Wet the couscous with hot water, let it swell for a few minutes then add to the egg food (for 1 teaspoon of couscous plan 4-5 teaspoons of food), coloring, fruit.

Millet is used in the diet of all birds: straight beaks and hooked beaks. In bunches, it's a treat they love.

Cluster millet has a good protein and carbohydrate content and also contains a large number of amino acids. Ideal for distracting your birds and thus avoiding pecking (feather pulling).

We advised giving red millet for exotic birds. It is richer in protein than yellow millet.
