Trichomonosis
In the context of a racing pigeon's performance, tackling trichomonosis is of utmost importance. Outside flight periods, it is advised to avoid medication treatments as much as possible to encourage the birds' natural resistance. The natural product from the lichen family, Usnea Barbata or beard lichen, is particularly suitable in this context. Using Usnea Barbata 2 days a week or every 5 to 6 weeks for 5 to 7 days is excellent as a preventive treatment. The birds gain natural protection without leading to the development of resistance. Pigeon breeders experiencing issues with their young pigeons can even use beard lichen for an extended period.

Instructions for use
A 5 to 7-day treatment with Ronidazol BT (10%) is recommended immediately before competitions to start the season safely and completely free of trichomonosis.
However, we advise against using ronidazole during the sports season as it can negatively affect the pigeon's condition. We have achieved excellent results with the product Metro, manufactured according to Dr. Erdösz's method, which is injected directly into each bird’s crop in a 2:8 dilution. Thanks to this highly effective and well-tolerated combination of active ingredients, your birds will be rid of trichomonosis in just a few minutes, and you won't lose time in terms of regeneration phase. Different pigeon lines show varying degrees of vulnerability to trichomonosis. This is also why treatments are discouraged as long as the birds display good behavior during training near the loft. The longer you can avoid treating them, the more consistent their condition curve will be.
