Yel-Lux 500g
Oropharma Yel-Lux is a natural yellow dye based on lutein. This dietary supplement intensifies the yellow colour of the plumage and increases resistance. Since feathers are made of dead cells and are therefore not nourished through metabolism, they develop their colour during their formation. The plumage is renewed on average once a year. This process does not occur all at once. The shedding of old feathers is stimulated by the formation of new ones, and this happens gradually, so that the bird always maintains a complete plumage.

Oropharma Yel-Lux is a natural yellow dye based on lutein. This dietary supplement intensifies the yellow colour of the plumage and increases resistance. Since feathers are made of dead cells and are therefore not nourished through metabolism, they develop their colour during their formation. Plumage is renewed on average once a year. This process does not occur all at once. The shedding of old feathers is stimulated by the formation of new ones gradually, ensuring that the bird always retains a complete plumage. When Yel-Lux is added to the food, this dye is transported to where the feather develops, ensuring an intense yellow colour. The formed feather retains its colour until a new feather is formed. Yel-Lux is not soluble in water and must therefore be mixed into the food.
Instructions for use: Always administer Yel-Lux via food and never through drinking water. 1 level scoop (= 1 g) per 100 g of egg food.
Breeding period: every day from 2 weeks before laying the first egg until the moult. During the moult: every day throughout the moulting period. Exhibition birds: every day throughout the exhibition season.
Advice: In bird lines that naturally have an intense yellow colour, or when the given food is rich in xanthophyll-based pigments (rapeseed, fresh egg yolk, e.a.), it is possible to only give half the dose (1 g per 200 g of egg food) from 2 weeks of age.

The administration of electrolytes in racing pigeons has its origins in the practice of sport in humans. It is not always so easy to transpose human products to the animal world.
When playing sports, humans sweat and eliminate salts and electrolytes through their sweat glands. This is why athletes must compensate for this loss for rapid regeneration with the help of electrolyte input. In doing so, the balance is quickly restored.
